Canada Water, a pocket of SE16 which sits between Rotherhithe and Surrey Quays underwent regeneration back in the mid 2000’s with the introduction of Maple Quays, still a very sought after development.

Fast forward nearly 10 years and Canada Water is about to go through round 2 of regeneration, firmly cementing its popularity and desirability.

Metro Village has a strong bond with Canada Water, being the first agent in the Maple Quays development; we have been here from the very beginning! As a team we are excited to see the changes taking place and the further investment that is coming to the area.

What’s so great about Canada Water you say?!

Location is everything in Canada Water, and no matter where you are, you are never far from the station. The station is serviced by the Jubilee Line, which of a weekend is conveniently 24 hours, the over ground and the bus garage, allowing you to get around London (and beyond) with ease.

SE16 is known for its serene water spaces and vast expanse of green land, having an abundance of both means there is plenty for locals and visitors to enjoy.  Water Yards which is just one new development currently under construction in the local area sits perfectly on the Canada Water lake, giving you unparalleled views of the water which surrounds it.

Independent bars and restaurants are hard to come by in some areas, not SE16. Ok, so we have a Burger King, McDonalds and Starbucks, but where doesn’t? But we also have Leadbelly’s, The Yellow House and Canada Water Café three fantastic places to visit, AND although it is technically SE8 it’s just a stone’s throw from SE16 and worth a mention, The Pear Tree.

Community spirit is the essence of SE16, businesses and individual’s alike band together to make the area better, safer, and cleaner. The vibrancy of the area is at the heart of the community and this is emphasised across all social media platforms. Street parties take place, businesses support each other and local events and people share the same ideology on what their local area should look and feel like.

These are just a few reasons why Canada Water is so great, we could go on all day long so if you want to hear more about the area, give us a call.
