Area Guide - SE16
Over the last few years SE16 has cemented itself as a prominent and highly desired postcode in London. The introduction of Canada Water station in 1999 followed some years later by the sought after Maple Quays development in 2011 has put Canada Water on the map!
Canada Water, Surrey Quays and Rotherhithe are all located within SE16 and as a collective they offer the community a number of independent bars and restaurants along with masses of green space and serene spots. Terence, our Lettings Manager says “Head over to The Pear Tree, a local restaurant situated in the heart of Greenland Place they offer great dishes and excellent customer service.”
Surrey Quays shopping centre offers a number of high street retailers and a 24 hour Tesco for convenience. With the overground, underground, bus station and riverboat service all in action the local area is fully compensated by an array of transport and transport links making commuting or travelling around London easy. If you prefer to drive around London, the Rotherhithe tunnel makes getting to and from SE16 very straight forward. David Smith offers an insider tip when driving through the Rotherhithe Tunnel “Pull the driver’s side wing mirror in, we see a lot of wing mirrors on the ground in the tunnel, it’s so easily done if your car is clipped by another.”
Back in 2016, British Land announced they are behind the ‘Canada Water Masterplan’ a plan for the area which will see further growth and redevelopment along with a number of new jobs created. The exciting 20 year plan will see an all High Street, more public and community spaces, more retail and bars and cafes.
